It’s a tricky balance of art and science, but a truly integrated approach to both light and sound affects the well-being and productivity of the occupants of any space. This achievement is something that our friends at OCL have come to master.

The Petals product is a creative combination of warm side lighting emitted from the ring’s inner silicone diffuser and 9mm PET acoustic fins, or petals, that creates artistic gradients across the recyclable felt material. The felt panels are made from 100% polyester fiber, contains a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled material, is non-toxic, non-allergenic, non-irritant, ASTM E84 Class A flame rated, Declare certified and LBC Red List free.

One of my favorite options with the Petals product in addition to its extensive color pallet, is that it is available in multiple sizes that extend all the way to a 72” diameter, allowing for designers to create extremely unique patterns of color and size within the space. In addition to the variety in scale, the housing body has a fully welded seam and has an architecturally clean look no matter which angle you are viewing the product from.
